Night after Night

People who live in Michigan are idiots. Not short yellow bus idiots, but more of the whining idiot variety. In the summer, the bay is never warm enough. Then when it is, the air is too stifling and hot. In the winter, outdoor enthusiasts constantly bitch about the lack of snow. But when it finally does snow enough to matter, they complain about the icy roads and sub-zero temperatures. Seriously, what a bunch of whining idiots. Anyway, Michigan dwellers are in a delicate period of the winter right now. The snow hasn't been here long enough for us to bitch about how deep or inconvenient it has become yet. The temperatures are low enough to put all the new Christmas gear through their paces, low enough to lick the flagpole and not die, and low enough for decent, fluffy powder, but not low enough to inspire any legitimate bitching yet. Before this neat little tangent, I had something to say about Frampton and the snow he soon won't be seeing anymore...well...I guess I just did. So...yeah...

I'm leaving for Okayama at 7:00 am on January 29th. The wait has been excruciating. My boring days are punctuated by trips to the local post office, finishing up Okami, basketball on Sunday nights, and an endless supply of onion bagels. As you can see from the photo (click to enlarge), my relaxed life here is in total disarray. Everything you see strewn about this room is supposed to go in a suitcase, a duffel bag, and then in a cardboard box (overflow to be mailed). It's kinda depressing to see your existence compressed into a few bags, but I'm deliberately leaving a pillow and some PS2 games here. Gotta have something to come back to.
